God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Core Beliefs
The following are the some of the core beliefs of Journey of Hope Fellowship based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in, and flows out of, these biblical doctrines.
THE TRINITY
We believe that there is only one living and true God, Creator and Sustainer of all things. In the unity of the Godhead there are three distinct persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit), equal in every divine perfection. (Matthew 3:13-17; I Corinthians 8:6; I John 5:7; Colossians 1:16-17)
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the Virgin Birth and absolute deity of God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; that He, while distinct from the Father, has precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We also believe in His sinless life, His propitiation for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His intercession on behalf of believers, and His personal, visible return from heaven. He is fully God and fully man. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; John 1:1-2; I John 5:20; Luke 1:26-38; I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. We further believe that this salvation is founded in God’s sovereign election, was purchased by Christ through His blood on the cross, and is received by humans through faith, apart from any merit, works, or ritual.
We believe that all who receive Christ as their Saviour are born again, and are eternally secure in Christ, and will persevere in faith unto eternal life. (John 3:3-6; I Peter 1:23; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:24-25; 5:8; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39)

The Church
We believe that the Church universal is a New Testament institution; established by Jesus Christ, Who is its sole Head; revealed through the holy Apostles; empowered and perpetuated by the Holy Spirit. The Church is Christ’s “body” for service and His “bride” for glory. We believe that his body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been baptized upon a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for instruction, for evangelism and for service. (Matt. 16:18; Acts 1:8, 2:1-13, 41-47, 15:14; Romans 16:26; I Cor. 12:12-28; Ephesians 1:22-23; 3:21; 5:23-33; I Thess. 4:13-18)
THE RETURN OF JESUS AND ResuRrection
We believe in, and anticipate, the bodily, personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to judge the nations and to establish His kingdom on earth. (Daniel 9:24; I Thess. 4:13-18; II Thess. 2:1-9; Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 2:7-10; Rev. 19:11-21)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both the righteous and the unrighteous. Believers who have died in Christ will be raised at the coming of Jesus to earth. The unsaved dead will be raised at the close of the Millennial Kingdom and stand at the Great White Throne Judgment to receive their eternal destiny in the Lake of Fire. (John 5:21-30; I Thess. 4:16; Rev. 7:9-17; 20:11-15)
